Riverside March 20-21 2009

Riverside was a lot of fun this year! Some of the girls had been there before, and for some, it was their first real travel meet. We all arrived safely Friday night and had dinner together at Applebee's. Coach Shannon sat with the girls and didn't let them order junk! Saturday morning we were all at the pool at 6am and started the morning off with figures. Although the forecast was for sun, the fog didn't burn off until 11:00, so it was quite cold all morning. Sunday was worse, it was only in the upper 40's/low 50's, rainy and windy all morning and into the early afternoon. The girls toughed it out, and swam well.

I had to lighten up this picture of the duet warming up
because there was no sun!

The 13-15 trio swam with a lot of energy
even though they were very tired.

Hey, don't those suits look great?!

The 11-12 trio took third place!

The first lift went very well!

The Team routine came in Fourth, against some very stiff competition. the swim scores for the top four routines were very close! Our girls were right up there with some good California teams.

Look! Coach Shannon smiling! :)

Although I didn't get their picture, the Little duet of Eryn and Aimee took First Place!

Just hangin' out Saturday afternoon. You can't really see it, but Walnut Creek had a great set up. They had a purple canopy with their team name across the front and a tent that faced into the canopy area. By sunday they had a tent on each side of the canopy. Great idea for the rain! BTW, this is the first photo I took with the phone to try to send to this blog. I think it works well. If you click on the photo, you can see it full sized, and copy for yourself.
